The inspiration behind this oil painting was/is my daughter. My daughter has a smile and a way of life that is very infectious. In this piece, I want the viewer to feel her excitement just by observing her movements within the painting. I also wanted to represent and instill pride and confidence in her by incorporating a part of her heritage (represented by the Chiapas Folklorico/folklore dress). In the end, I'm hoping the viewer can convey the feeling of happiness and strength that I am privileged to observe daily.
