We're All Stardust

On the way to New Mexico last Thanksgiving, I stopped at Marfa overnight. I didn’t get the chance to see if the sign was lit in the evening. Sometimes it is, sometimes not. Before leaving, I took a morning walk to the sign and took some pictures. After the trip, I painted the sign, imagining how it would look and feel at dusk, recreating the atmosphere of the town, which is quite unique. The perspective highlights how small one feels, looking up at the stars and the stardust.
The sign has a three-Star review on Yelp: ’The sign is kinda old looking. It’s super old. But it’s a nice reminder that we’re all from Stardust.’
