I was amazed by the thorns in West Texas, huge, foreboding, everywhere in the landscape. I encountered an amazing birds nest, so carefully constructed by a motherbird, to provide home and safe haven for her babies. This image represents me, a protective and fierce mother, providing a beautiful safe sanctuary, amid the threats and thorns encountered outside my home today. I was touched when I realized the sacred sanctuary created in the wilds of West Texas. The heavy textures represent the wide open skies.
