Uterine

Uterine, Division II Semi Professional
Uterine
This work was created first by building an image of microscopic smooth muscle tissue from the uterine wall, then using a Cricut to print the design which was placed on a hand built stoneware slab covered in cyanotype. The work was exposed to sunlight for 1 hour to create a cyanotype photogram, then after processing, the work was hung on a wood frame, reminiscent of stretched animal hide. This artwork is part of a larger body of work examining both cellular and social structures.
