Zebras in Danger
This is a watercolor painting using a looser style for the Serengeti background setting. This painting is contrasting how zebras appear to be grazing in a peaceful setting, however in the background there is danger where a lion is stalking a baby zebra next to her mother. The good news is the mother is alerted to the lion and is taking a defensive position ready to defend her baby.
I wanted to create a complex story with the following key elements;
1. A menacing lion in the background stalking and on the hunt
2. Zebras oblivious of the danger and have total focus on feeding
3. The mother being in an alert state ready for the danger and ready to protect her young.
