Picasso’s Oasis
Recently reintroduced, I decided to do an homage to Picasso’s landscapes. In this piece, I utilized several strumpwork techniques. Notice the dimensional rocks on the left along with one of the palm fronds sticks out toward the viewer. After transferring a photo of a young Picasso, I added him into the piece on the tree. A regular frame just didn’t see to do the piece justice, so I made my own using fabric, thin batting and Freeform machine embroidery.
