P-166-167: Tia Fanny, Tio Julio, Happy Anniversary! Is a Watercolor on Bristol Vellum Drawing paper. The original intent of this artwork was to create a graphite drawing. However, once an initial map of the areas to be drawn was started in graphite, the color contrasts in my photo reference of this beautiful couple (married greater than 55 years), teased me into taking on a watercolor challenge to see what I could do with the intriguing color combinations and contrasts despite a less than optimal surface for a watercolor painting. Hidden are topics of interest to the couple: a dog, a rose, a fish and a few other things.
